Im very excited to share that I picked up my first MV today. Its a 86 1031 that is 100% complete and fully functional with about 26k miles indicated and by the shape of the truck I think thats pretty accurate. I drove it about 70 miles to get it home and it was smooth sailing all the way. Im definitely going to be prioritizing a gear vendor upgrade for the freeway miles. An old diesel just shouldnt have to rev that high to get me from place to place. lol

The truck has minor surface rust but all the corners and doors etc are completely solid. The Drivers door has the standard forklift damage so I will be taking care of that too.

Im looking forward to starting a build thread as well and I will post some photos here tomorrow or something as it is dark now.

:driver: Im in the green!

Some on here may shake their heads at this but I am planning to turn the truck into a fleetside pick-up (1028?) and put all the running gear into a trailer with an extended PTO and run the governor wiring through the the trailer hook up. This will give me better hauling utility with the truck as well as much better 4x4 capabilities but still retain use of the genset etc. I will be doing a detailed build thread on the conversion so look out for that.
