You are looking at a M923A2 5 ton cargo truck with Cummings 8.3 turbo diesel engine. It starts, runs, and drives as it should. The truck was released from service in 2014 and privately owned by a single owner until his passing in 2023.
This truck was on active duty at Ft Hood where it was constantly maintained and updated from 2001 to 2010. Rebuild tags show major components were rebuilt over multiple years. Axle tags show they went all the way into the axles for inspections and repairs. A new engine was installed during its service life at an unknown date. The data plate on the engine is dated 03' and likely a "canned" engine that was installed. It retired from service in 2011.
