Ok so just go ahead and disconnect the batteries.
Order a new box that is the latest edition along with the
matching GPC. No matter what they do or don't do they should be a matched set.
Connect the original leads to good glow plugs and you will be set.
Dont reconnect your batteries until the work is complete and don't connect or disconnect PCB
with batteries connected.
Lots of info on this stuff as well as grounding
issues that are worth reading here.

Noce truck and once you get these issues behind you the rest is simple.

Also, your photo of your batteries shows a problem. The right battery needs to be rotated 180 degrees.
It is hooked up properly but if it was rotated 180 degrees the cables would not cross over the bracket
in the dangerous way that they do. Could short easily.

we no longer use the term "GPC and PCB" they do not apply to the new EESS and TSU, this can and will confuse new folks.
The TSU is no longer a glow plug controller....it only sends temp to the EESS.
the issue arises when folks buy an old style NOS GPC and install it on an EESS...see it al the time, so let's call it what it is.
it won't work

Low beams work fine - (high beams also)
Picking up new batteries in the AM - will rotate.

Retiredwarhorses lost me :)
So what exactly am I looking for? A new EESS AND a TSU?

Read in some older posts that you has some? Still got them?

Anyone have any idea the reason for this front bumper??

Looking to add a brush guard, and mounting is for the smaller bumpers.

Looked thru a lot of current and past auctions of HMMWV's and saw only a few with this bumper.

Should I replace it?

My first humvee had that long flimsy bumper, but had the standard 3-hole bumper bolted over it. I took the long one off and left it tied to a tree for over 10 years. They bend easy.

OK -- want to make sure I have this correct.

This is the EESS and with the second set of glow plug wires currently installed.

What would be the correct eess and tcu to use?

Is this the correct box?

yea, get rid of that box real quick, those are not supposed to be in the system anymore, they caused phantom starts and fires.
Just call kascar and talk with them....they have what you need, warrant the items they sell and know HMMWV's.

Awesome - Thank You!

I've had the ground off the batteries for a while -

Is there a correct order for putting the glow plugs back to the original wires - or is it just 4 on each side -
I've got all the TM's downloaded - just have not had a chance to look yet

plug wires are different lengths, somewhat. But, NO, it doesn't matter which plug you hook each wire to. They all come on at the same time.
