Looking for some input on installing a PTO and water pump on a lmtv 3116 cat, tech 2 Allison transmission. There are 2 ports for a PTO, one on each side of the transmission. Driverside there's no room to install the pump with the stuff there if you're familiar with the truck. Passenger side is tight but doable by altering the exhaust but the oil pump is in the way. So my question is " can the oil pump assembly be moved over to the driverside of the transmission? " Any help with input would be much appreciative. Thank you...

well every other truck has the PTO on the drivers side Along with all the other stuff…

Not sure if the scavenger pump and its mount is symmetrical enough to be just flipped over the top(to maintain same direction of rotation). Then you would have to figure out how to plumb from the suction port, under the trans to reach the pump. Sounds just as difficult a total process as fitting the PTO in its normal location, which is a royal PITA, but it does get done…

PTO winches are cool and all but I don’r think I would bother. I like the side winch location, I would put a big assed 24v electric there configured for a front or rear pull, or like a Foers configuration(front AND rear pull) using the already provided cable path. Easier and probably a lot less work and cost…

I installed a PTO on the drivers side. Not fun, but not impossible. If you have the means to unbolt the bed & slide it back, it would be simple to do.
