Well had my first breakdown in a cucv, Ive owned 9 since 1999. I buy them drive them for a while and then sell them for what I put into them.
Well this blazer has been a project since I bought it in 2008, I was out of state for a while for work. Anyway I have everything working great except the front battery charging, that a story by it self.

My wife wants to go to the snow in the mountains 38 miles from Las vegas, she asks if the blazer is good to go. I naturally say yes. We pick up my 3 year old at school with the proper cold weather gear to dress her in. As we pull into the school lot my wife hears a noise. I dismiss it as the tools in the back moving.

We head to the mountain an on the way up we start to smell something like oil on the exhaust. I dismiss this also because I just fixed an oil leak on the lines going into the oil filter. A half mile later bang the rear drive shaft breaks. The wife looks at me and said "I told you I heard something" I have tools with me so no problem. My wife knows I have many spare parts and asks do you have a spare part with you. We all know what my answer to that was............ No I have it in the rear of the one I am currently working on. You should have seen the look. Anyway I say dont worry I will just remove the drive shaft and use the front drive line to get us home. She takes my daughter into the woods to play to get her away from the highway. I take out the shaft but we all know if I take out the yoke from the transfer case I will loose all the fluid. Now normally I have a but load of empty pop cups on the floor, from the runs to the parts store, to cut and put over the yoke output and tape it so all the fluid doesnt leak and I can get home. No not today I cleaned them all out because it drives my wife nuts. Anyway my wife and daughter walk from the woods and tell the wife I need a pop cup or beer can to make the temp fix, I get the look again. My 3 year old looks at me and says daddy come with me. I do and guess what she takes me to a pop cup and a beer can. She saw them while she was playing. I fixed it and drove home.

Dont I look bad the women in my life to the rescue.

Hmmm, a soda can and duct tape. I will have to remember that one.
I had to drive on the front in my 69 Blazer, but that had a bolt on yoke on the 205, not a slip yoke.
Good thinking choll, Hopefully you went from looking like a zero, to a Hero in the wifes eyes.
