Here's an M108 in action, the same one that follows Gimpyrobb everywhere!

David Doyle wrote an article about 2 1/2 ton wrecker cranes for the Dec 07 ( Issue 124 ) MV magazine.
(No I will not scan and post it)

can the m108 be used to recover/tow a m35? you guys seem to like the m60 better, why is that? my intentions would be to get a 108 and repower with a 5.9 cummins, or just move the bed to a diferent one of my trucks.

I would caution against any recovery larger than a CUCV with a 108. A deuce is just too heavy for the way the truck is laid out!

I did a lift tow of a M35 with the M108. It worked, but the deuce was too heavy, front of the M108 was pretty light. Maybe with a non winch truck it would be better.

I would not move a M108 bed to another truck, the M108 frame is reinforced for the extra weight. The truck with crane weighs 20,000lbs empty.

Here's a thread on a lift tow with M108

My yard is all sand and I live on a dirt road. Any time I lift tow, the truck won't steer at all. Perhaps I should try asphalt.
