Ranchhopper: Going down grade I could run over the guys in front of me.. Going up grade well thats a whole other story.. On the flat I could hold my own plus a little.

Looks like a lot of fun. I see that the mud was in no shortage there. How did the singled five tons and deuces do in comparison to the five tons deuces on NDTs? Is there a significant advantage in capability for any of the tires there. It looked like you guys had a wide variety of tires represented. Glen

Someone should go monitor the Haspin forums and see if anyone is talking about Ferro's incident Sat night.

I too would like to see if anyone wrote this up. It was something you just had to be there. If the punk's girls hadn't stayed in the wheelers, and I didn't have a bed load of people, Gimp would have had to pick out crapwagons from under the truck the next day. I wanted to smash them so bad... I almost did when they pulled in front and slammed on the brakes. They were too dumb to relize just how long it would take me to stop that rig with two bad legs no less...

if the five ton had some speed built up going in to it it did great but if it couldnt get the front axle locked in it sunk. the 2.5 tons did quiet well all around.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....for all around offroad performance I think the duals do just a little better, less ground pressure, wider track. Don't get me wrong, in some cases the singles do better and do have more ground clearance, but for general overall performance I still like the duals

I'm certainly no expert, but watching gimp and you go through the same night time mudhole, it seemed the super singles tended to "float" up on the mud and loose traction a little sooner. BIG FUN EITHER WAY!!! :jumpin:

i know that when i get my deuce i want to keep the daulles but i would like to put a set of ten 49" tall 14.00-20 Michelin XLs on it. so i have a slightly taller tire but a lot more aggressive tire too. with a winch and an air shift front axle. wouldnt mind having some finders and running bords like lilfoot too, hint, hint (lilfoot).rofl

At first, the NDT's were kicking my truck's worn 15.5 XL's butt and I was starting to reconsider installing singles. Then I remembered that I still had my tires at 65-70 psi for the road. After I let them down to about 20-25 psi (I think 25 psi was a little too low for the steers, they looked a little bulgey, I'll proably do 30 psi next time) it made a huge difference. With traction I used torque to climb rather than inertia and wheel speed. I do think that most everyone can at least agree that singles look better than NDT's, right?

The 814 is so long, that I have to wear two watches, as the ass end is in another time zone. I am looking for the Mk I bike that was issued so you can reach the another end of the bed in a timely fashion :jumpin: :mrgreen:

I couldn't agree more Shawn!, especially on your bad to the bone 5 ton!

Now, if i could just convince the wife I reeeealllllyyy need a set of those.........:roll:
