2011 M1167 6.5 TD cold starting

It about 27 degrees and has been doing fine in this weather so far but this morning Went to start my truck everything working normally after wait light went off I turned the switch to start and it turned over a few times and just stopped now everything is working normally turn switch glow plug wait light comes on but when I turn to start nothing happens no noise clicks or anything I’m sure it’s been on here but can’t find anything Thanks in advance for any help I appreciate it

It could be your battery voltage has dropped to the point it will not activate the starter.

Is it in park or neutral? Wiggle the shifter lever….possible bad NSS

Could be a few things. My list below is not complete.

Check battery connections. Seriously. Loose ones can do this.

Make sure batteries are charged.

Retired War Horses is a HMMWV mechanic. Listen to him. Try wiggling the gear selector in park OR try starting in Neutral.

Check your EESS smart start glow plug controller. If bad, rebuild is an option with the instructions I posted.

Hit starter solenoid with hammer to see if it is stuck.

Try bypassing starter solenoid to see if starter is fried

Start simple with batteries. Work your way up to hard things like bad starter solenoid

Ultimately, the TM’s are free and you should read them. (Technical Manuals are posted on Steel Soldiers for free).
