My experience is they don't care what the number was during the auction. It is what is requested on the SF97. Not sure if they changed their processes not but I've had about half of my auctions have bad info on the dataplates.

A call to Erica at GL confirmed exactly what you said.
She went on to explain that this is the exact reason that they ask us to wait untill we recover the vehicle and confirm all information.
She suggested that I put a note in the comment section just in case.
To be fair to GL the fact is that the number is incorrectly stamped on the data tag.
I definetly will check better next time myself.

Sorry about the private message first. I am a small collector located in Italia and have recently purchased a M35 from the US Army Disposal (IFMS). The truck has no winch and was dispalyed inside the entrance to a base school for over 28 years.
The VIN is 032521372 Im sorry but the "hood number" is 1/2 gone. Can you still help please?
The Disposal documents say 1972 but a web site said 1968 and now Im lost.

I think you better verify your vin on your frame. Sure hope you havent registered the vehicle yet.

No info. Need to validate the info on the frame. The first digit 3 is not working. I have a one starting with a 1 and one starting with a 5 but no 3.
