Hey Carnac! I have a very weird M35a2 W/W. I know it is a Test Vehicle but for what I have no Idea. I actually have it on ebay right now and a very nice fella told me about you. Heres the Info that I know:

VIN: 012519429
Reg: 4H4442
NSN: 23200771617
Place: Camp Shelby, MS Government auction decades ago supposedly.
Bumper # TV23 Thats the only numbers I can make out on Back and Front.

It was later owned by USACEWES. I found that on a white sticker on the dash. The number associated with that sticker reads 07820

Thank You so much for what you do. I will make a point to donate to that organization from my business.

I recently got an M936A1 medium wrecker through GL:

a. serial number C53600964
b. registration number unknown
c. NSN 2320012064074
d. Bought in GL event 10923, lot 8125, from Barstow, CA site.
e. No bumper numbers present

Other info from GL listing:
DTID: SZ31292080D824
NSN in GL listing is incorrect number for M936 model.
Year listed as 1984, but not marked on dataplate.
It appears as the truck was owned by Defense Logistics Agency based on the turn in number. No info on the Army side.

Thanks for the info. Is there anyway of knowing if the truck traveled anywhere? Say out of country?

Please refer to page one post one of this thread. "You get what he has" if you want any additional info I would suggest sending Carnac your donation and doing the additional research on the last Organization your truck was assigned to yourself. Not trying to sound harsh but I'm sure the man is divulging all info he has at hand. Consider yourself lucky that you got more info than most on your vehicle.

Well considering im not sure where to start looking and researching, this is why I ask a question. Which is what forums are about. I wasn't asking for anyone to do anything more for me other than suggest where I could look next.

There is an offcial website for most, if not all, military organizations. The Army has a Heritage organization that's name escapes me for the moment but anyway, they have everything about every unit in the Army that hs been submitted to them. There's also pages on the web (unofficial) where unit members or "fans" can come together and talk about whatever. Facebook is another source. Try typing in the parent organization..311th..sorry, really I need to write things down, whatever the unit's complete designation ID is and you may be able to find everything you need or want to know. It can be frustrating at times getting info on your new purchase but having 6 trucks and a trailer, I'm get tidbits here and there all the time. Still piecing together their stories and I may never get the full story but that's part of the fun of owning these HMV's: the challenge they bring to their owners to get everything just right to their satisfaction. Some people don't care and some get slightly obsessive (me for one) on "getting it right". If you can't find anything, PM me and I'll see what I can dig up. Time to assist is something I have plenty of.:grd::beer:
Add: 311th Support Battalion and Fulton MO, sounds like a Guard Unit...maybe Reserve. Try also the State Military Department. They sometimes can help.

Carnac

I should have done this sooner. Had the truck for almost two years but....anyway, here you go. Donation to follow.

1. 1G8ED18J6GF113580
2. CU3548 (note: there was another # before this one. It had been mostly removed. Started out with NF, the rest wasn't readable)
3. 2320010907894
4. Commercial dealer, Cheyenne WY. The truck was one of a lot of 6 that was won at a GL auction unknown date somewhere in Colorado. Dealer I bought from was not the auction winner.
5. Passenger side: WY ARNG. Drivers side: TSC 02 Same markings on rear bumper. Removed two layers of paint and same number was repeated on each layer.

Thank you for your Service, Sir.

Jeff
