2014 VIN Info Thread

Thanks CARNAC, too bad there was no manufacturer info. I did some sanding and was able to get some more bumper numbers: "28 1 109 FA" and "SV 39" as above. From the internet I assume this is the 1st battalion 109th field artillery of the PA ANG. I'm guessing that since this does not match the info in the database that USPFO was where the vehicle was surplused? Can anybody speculate what the "28" or "SV" indicate? Thanks for any info.

USPFO is the US Property and Fiscal Office. They are the property, supply and money folks for each state National Guard. They take ownership of the vehicle as it leaves NG service and goes to DRMO. Some states do a transfer that appears in the database...some don't. PA has a history of processing the transfer as they did in this case.

28th Infantry Division (the Bloody Bucket) is the primary National Guard organization within the state of PA. You are correct about 1-109th FA. SV is Services Battery which is similar to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) for an infantry or armor battalion.

OK, let me check these real quick. Nope, both registration numbers come back with nothing found. Hmmmm could it be the directions were not followed.

Man from Minot, don't be sorry, be correct, no change the registration number to a 0 and a 1 and I'll probably be able to find it.

Oh crap.sorry bout the space I was tryin to surf on the fifth wheel and tryin not to break my neck. It looked like a good place to read it with phone in hand trying to enter it in. It was covered up with some flaking paint and was at the top of the cab so was hard to read.
