Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
We were really thinking of going, met some good people last year. And really enjoyed seeing their equipment and talking to them. But had to have an act of congress from the owner to go off roading a couple of hours last year, at an “off road park”? And then we read that four wheelers and side by sides were not allowed. Because we thought about bringing the big truck with a couple of four wheelers in the back. We're on route.

Do you have one of the windscreens on the microphone?I tried something new when making a video of the drive to the museum. I put a wired microphone on the tail light brace of the M715 right next to the exhaust pipe exit. The same basic location sounds great on my Miata and Porsche. I guess 6.2 liters of Detroit Diesel with limited muffler is just too much for it. Anyway, here is the convoy going to the museum:
I tried to edit out the distortion but basically all of the sound was distorted. Then I tried the same microphone a foot or so away from the tail pipe on the Cowdog. Wanting to capture the turbine whine on my drive home with the trailer and M715 loaded. It was a little better but not much:
