We have our dates set for the SoCal Fall Rally the weekend of October 10th - 13th .

Here is the map to camp https://goo.gl/maps/4gL2iMToLmf1zsgR9

Saltydeuce as usual will be providing us with a few truck loads of firewood for the community fire pit to have a warm gathering spot for lively discussions on whether or not a bikini is proper attire for construction workers on the the side of the road.

There will be a convoy through the desert on Saturday around 11'ish which makes for a real good time and enjoy the view this also gives us an opportunity to pick up any trash that we may see along the way. When we get back I'll be grilling up some tacos for everyone there.

We usual are in search of a rally car if anyone has any leads on a good running, but cheap (around $400) car, truck or van let us know or just bring it and we'll reimburse you. If anyone wants to drive the rally car we ask for a donation to help with the purchase of it.

As it should be with any campsite we ask that you pick up any trash that you see as well as packing up what you bring out.

I know when we are out in the wide open it can be hard not to get on the skinny pedal and get the full experience of the wind blowing through your wig, but please be courteous at camp and around others that want to enjoy it too so that nobody gets dusted out. There is a 5mph speed limit in camp.

Hope to see you guys out there.

We put it through a rigorous desert off road durability test to see if it meets manufacturer specifications. Many cars don't survive the trail run so they wind up becoming target practice and eventually recycled into paperclips. But if they do survive we're open to suggestions once back at camp what happens next.

I'm not sure whether or not I'm able to make it this year seems like every year I'm not able to make it but there will be a Trump rally at 5:00 p.m. in Coachella this Saturday! Perhaps can combine the two events.

Just realized the two things aren't anyway near each other! Lol. Ever been to either location

When I initially looked at the problem I pulled the floor pan and found that the top plate on the transmission had obvious drips with several loose bolts (which I tightened up in the Barstow Station) - so I thought (hoped) that was the only leak and just topping it up would let me continue, but 2 quarts wasn't enough to make it stop howling and it needed 4 quarts to reach the bottom of the fill-plug hole. Maybe I over filled it (I added until it just started seeping out the fill hole)? Or maybe the front seal had already failed too?

After my roadside repair (tightened top bolts, refill case) it was puking out the bottom of the bellhousing so I assumed that now the transmission front seal was the source - so I decided I should just try to make it home before the clutch got soaked. I did make it home (I'm amazed). I hope continued diagnosis will be easier at home vs a Barstow gas station.
