24V siren electric current

Hi all.
I have installed a 24v SEV Marchal siren in my M38A1 and I have secured it with a 15 amp fuse and worked fine.


Last week I got a 24v Siren by Sir-EA-ne Brooklyn Laboratories INC. When I installed it, the 15A fuse melted. The siren works when i push the button but after a few seconds the fuse was gone. I removed the front cover and the fan is turning without problems. I put the SEV siren back and is working fine. Is it likely the Sir-EA-ne siren to draw more than 15A? May need 20A fuse? Too many amps for a siren?

Might be a silly question, but is there an oil hole anywhere on the Sir-EA-ne ?
Seems like it is drawing "too much juice" but I wouldn't jump to a 20amp fuse. The bearings could be a little dry from sitting around for several years. Can you easily turn the rotor by hand easily (without scaring it up)?

If not, that might be part of the problem.

The federal Q2, which is THE STANDARD when it comes to mechanical sirens, will pull about 100A +/-..... at 12V... The ones you have are smaller mechanical sirens, and 24V and not 12V, but I'd still expect 25A @ 24V...
