Does anybody tried the 24v gear reduction starters for the CUCV offered in Ebay?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130079590731&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:US:1

The price is tempting, and they look good. I used to hate chinese stuff but after buying a lot of items from American brand names (like Edelbrock, Caterpillar, Eagle Rods, De Walt and more, and discovering they are all made in China and decent stuff, makes those starters even more attractive.

I know someone that has one and it works fine. It had "NO Shim" cast into the nose piece, so he diden't use any shim and it has worked well for about a year.

I installed one a few weeks ago on my friends 1009. It looks like a quality unit. It's about 25% less weight. The only thing we had to do to make it fit was drill a new hole in the nose support bracket so it would line up with the stud. So far no problems.
