250 Cummins parts

The engine in the wrecker needs a piston and liner.

That's after 200 plus for a head and gaskets.

I have a parts source but he is saying over 200 bucks for those two items plus a rod bearing.

Then there is at least 300 labor.

Anyone got a cheap source for Cummins parts for the 250.

I'll bite the bullet if I have to but I need to stay on a budget if I can.

Don't know about the price for parts other than a few years ago I bought a complete rebuilt kit for $900. I'm sure they have went up some since then.

I've got a sleeve puller that you can borrow if you like. A sleeve puller, a big torque wrench, and an inch pound torque wrench (to set the injectors) is the only special tools you need to do this project yourself and save $300. It's an easy project.
