250000 btu heater questions

I have seen some portable duct style heaters for sale on here and on GL. My questions: Could they be used to heat a portion of our office building in an emergency? The building is single story and about 8500 square feet. Not looking to heat the whole thing just part of it. Would it heat a 20 x 30 tent? Do they use some type of thermostat to operate or what? Any info would be great.

If you can keep carbon monoxide out of the air flow, and have a way to circulate the air once it's in the building, then 250,000 BTUH will be plenty big. First room you pipe it into might get a bit too warm unless it's a big room! If I remeber the formula correctly, that's about 22 tons of heating - how much does the building have now?
