Haha! Yeah, I am one axle ahead of you. On my trip to get mine, I had a wheel bearing disintegrate, so I went through my front axle last week and the "front rear" today. I will be going through the last one tomorrow and then I hope to install a new fuel line and radiator. Then its off to the races! Hows you truck feel power wise after the swap? I'm hoping my LDS will not notice them too much. Looks good man, Mine is a drop side winch truc too.

I think it actually runs better! No power problems. But I have only driven it on flat ground so far...

does anyone have any oppinions about the mich. ZXLs, or any of the other massive tires ? actuall offroading ability, street noise, out of round-ness ? likes, disslikes ? and how big can the front tires be before you can't turn the truck, when does tire rub start ?

I tell people that the best quality of all my big tires is the PRICE! LOL!

I have no problem with any of them.

The 395 (46") is the biggest you can put on a 6 wheeled truck. If you bob it, you can run 14.00s pretty easily, and 16.00s with a little modding.

Wow. That looks awful sexy - can you report back after you've had the truck up to highway speeds to let us know if the rears grow enough to contact each other?

I have driven the truck at 60mph for about 20 minutes--- no rub that I know of. There is about 1.5" clearance at rest with 60 psi. I am going to take the air pressure down a bit--- maybe 40 psi.

That's good enough for me - I'd think 20 minutes would be sufficient, and if you did have two aggressive tires rubbing at 60, I bet you'd notice :wink:.

Have you thought about doing some lettering on this truck to advertise 100dollarman.com? - possibly a military-like stencil job on the bumper and doors?

I have thought about the stenciling several times--- its a great idea! But I have not done it yet. Seems like everytime I start thinking about doing it, the truck sells!!! Things have been BUSY around here lately---- selling trucks, trailers, and LOTS of tires!

I did just get a nice 5 ton M818 that I have plans for (unless it sells first). I am going to install 6 big tires (havent decided which size yet, but I have them all). Possibly will remove the 5th wheel hitch, and cut a Deuce bed to fit. I plan to "100dollarman,com" that one. And I have a nice M1028 that I have theatened to stencil. I have a couple of customer Bobbed Deuces we are working on now, but when I get caught up, I would like to do one for myself and stencil it.

sidenote- A Bob we are doing right now will get 14.00-20 XLs and also the same tire on a matching M105 trailer--- I think that will look cool! I should start a build thread.

Maybe I should fit some 395s on a trailer for this 6 whl deuce???? That would look cool, too! I have lots of trailers to mess with.

I really like the look of the tires :-D, but I'm not sure about the rims dish out like that. Are you going to try flipping the rears?

Great looking truck. Do you have and east coast contact as well? I have 3 trucks that I would like to do that to before Aberdeen. I like the non-flipped look.

What about rear articulation? Look like with the taller tires, you have lost most of the ability of the rear to pivot without the tires hitting the bottom of the bed. That could get ugly real fast off road. Also with a good sized load in the bed, how much does the suspension compress?
Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but for me function is more important than looks. I am very interested to hear how your deuce works in rough terrain as I can see the advantages of larger tires, but again it seems like the trade off may not merit the mod.

Hans, the trucks can take some weight before the springs sag. There is about 6" between the bed and the tires. I flipped my rear hubs so the tires would be lined up, but would like a wider stance. I'm thinking about flipping the dish in some riveted rims to widen the stance.

I have heard, and read that those tires are unsafe on those wheels, I think they will be good, but i need some info from people who have done some miles on those tire/wheel combo's, I do not want to be having tires dismount from the wheels on the eway on my 500 mile roud trips, does anyone have any insight on this
