4l80 Limp Mode

Does a lack of a engine speed sensor cause limp mode in the 4l80e?
I have had it unplugged and plugged in and haven't seen a difference?

What are the limp mode symptoms? I know in my transmission controller doesn't get 12v, it will only go in 1st and reverse.

There is 12v at the transmission connector E.
I assume cause the power has to go through the TCM first the computer is getting power.

Had a transmission shop shift the tranny manually with a super shifter and the transmission solenoids are all good.

Either it's my ESS or the TOSS. Or maybe the TISS. But definitely isolated to sensors cause the computer came with the transmission
