5 ton cold start

when i start my m818s in cold weather and use the cold start system the light above the switch does not come on in one truck but comes on in the others-- is there a circutr to check out--what are the correct cold start steps--thanks

I should probably just read the manual, but since this is being asked.....When I turn my preheater to "on" the red light doesn't come on, but if I turn it further and hold it, the red light comes on, and it does heat up the intake.

Should it be coming on when the switch is just in the "on" position?

The preheat is 12volt. It has one wire hooked right to one battery. Check too make shure it is hooked up. And yes I think it is too come on in the on position.
