my brother bought a M931A1 and is trying to find the year of it for his SF97 the procurment date was april of 1981 this thing looks new how could it be that old.

Seems like lots of A1's are 1986. The slicks are often 83-84, and the A2's seem to start at 1989. Corrections/additions?

They are rebuilt periodically......I just picked up a 1990ish M931 for a fellow member that has a hair over 300 miles on it.

This has only 500 miles on it and it is new everywhere . He needs to find the year for the sf97

I was right, it is a 1986. There is a 1986 M931A1 listed on a popular auction site that is C531-3150 which is 15 units, or a couple day's production from yours.
