I received a pump today in the mail I purchased. The housing is binding as I try to tighten bolts and the gasket is torn. How much force is needed to install the housing ? I just bought this part and have never taken one apart or put together but I feel like it is a much tighter fit than normal. Any words of wisdom? This is how it arrived.

I had to replace the shaft in mine earlier this year, but I don't remember having any issues like you describe.

Where does it seem to be binding? At the bolts, like they aren't aligned? Could be paint too thick in the bolt holes making it tough to keep the bolts in line.

I will inspect it more tomorrow. I was busy hauling a 5 ton home today!

It went together perfectly fine with a little patience and a few attempts.
