60Amp Alternator Brush Holder Kit - 3 brushes included

Hi Guys, I struggled to get just the brushes for my 60Amp Regulator, but managed to get a kit with brushes, springs, brush holder and spacers. Included in the kit were three brushes. Any ideas why there are three brushes, as only two are used?

Bit early

I did end up getting two kits and there's three brushes in each kit.

Its probably in case one is bad. Just cause something is new doesn't mean it will work.

Can you post the part number and where you got it from?

I got the kit from Southern Automotive Wholesalers, I've put a photograph below of the box top with the part number (AMA-1015AS)
