7/8 wrench with 1/2 drive for M35 A2 head bolts

hello,

I am currently doing a head gasket on my 1983 M35 A2 multi fuel White motor , an I was hoping I could borrow a 7/8 wrench fitted with a 1/2 drive on the other hand in order to torque the three bolts located below the injectors.
If someone has on handy I would appreciate if they would let me borrow it thanks
I will pay for shipping if needed.

There is one on epay I think this is acceptable. I would suggest going this route since the ship in and out with tracking and what not would be almost as expensive. Look for Proto 3/4 torque and it should bring it up. He has multiple ones.

if your a good welder. The ones most of the vendors sell are thin and will break anyway. Search it on here.

I thought if you put the adapter 90° to the torque wrench you didn't need to adjust the torque setting. I could be wrong though. It's been a while since I needed to adjust torque because of an adapter.

You are correct, luckily that is why the manufacturer knew that already and supplied the measurement for the torque calculation...Proto Tools...2"

Mine is only a 3/8" drive, so you'll need to use a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter for it to fit the square drive on your torque wrench, but those kind of adapters and extensions don't necessitate a torque recalculation since they are still inline with the centerline of the square drive of the wrench.

That's correct .

Yes, that is true as well. But it is also a pain in the butt sometimes to gain access to the nut you are working on with the wrench and adapter at 90 degrees to each other. Why not just plug the numbers into the easy calculator provided in the link by acesneights1 and readjust your torque setting.

I purchased a snap on adapter and it doesn't fit in all of the locations. I ended up building one from double box end wrench and a socket. In building one, I can say that the weak link isn't the weld but the mild steel link between the wrench and the socket.

unless the drive is directly above the nut or bolt you have to calculate the torque adjustment amount. not rocket science, and it's your head gasket.
