80 MPH Speedometer Backlight?

I searched and couldn't find an answer to this question...but is it normal that the dash lights do not illuminate my 80 MPH speedometer? Is there supposed to be an internal light in the speedometer itself? At night I can see all my gauges except the speedometer.

You have the 80mph speedo? Is the light internal?

The factory original speedo has a built in light. Here is a picture of the back. I wonder if the bulb can be access by removing the screws on the connector.

My speedo lights up, so I think you have a connection or bulb issue.

It is likely an LED and not considered serviceable, check power to E and F when the lights are on.

From TM-9-2320-387-24P Group 4701

Parts 9 and 11 are the splitters required for operation.

Part 9- 12480909
Part 11- 12480908

Both are available through HPG and others but are also easy to make.
