Hi everyone I’m new to both y’all’s community and the 802A. My name is Rocky im from Louisiana, I’m not military but most of my family is military… I recently acquired an 802A for backup for hurricane and my off grid application.. I love how compact and efficient they are but It seems im having some sort of charging issue.. Something is draining the batteries.. They are not being charged by the system. Then when they are drained it shuts off. I recently replaced the alternator and the batteries are brand new but I’m still having the same problem.. Can someone please help me of point me in the right direction… The guy I purchased it from claimed it worked and now isn’t responding to me calls of text.. So I have to figure it out. Did you check the FU1 fuse?
Yes I did I replaced it with another 30a even though it didn’t appear blown. The housing and cap on it seems rather loose to me tho!

That can be a problem. You need to make sure the cap has the metal insert in it.

Start the set. Then measure from ground to first one, and then the other contact on the FU1. You should get 24 VDC. Then check J6/P6 canon plug to make sure its tight. Also unscrew it and look at both sides of the plug. Yes, its a PITA to look at the side on the bottom of the control panel. But you want to make sure there is no damage to the pin, or some kind of corrosion.
Ok I will look for a replacement fuse holder. Would that make it not charge the batteries?? I charged the batteries replaced the alternator and the Fu1 fuse it ran great for at least 10-12 hrs but once the batteries drain it’s slowly shuts off. After it shuts off everything is dead. Won’t crank from the main switch or dead crank!

That FU1 is the DC fuse, if its not seated and the connection is broken, you aren't getting the power from the alternator, down to charge the batteries.
Have you taken a multimeter to the pins on the back of the alternator, to see if you are getting 26-29V output?

I did it worked when I tested crank and all I even ran it before the purchase was final so if I’m being honest it worked.. I’m guessing it sat up a while but either way I want to get it back working properly..

Test for 24v with a handheld probe, see if you have voltage at both soldered wire sets on the fuse tube.

Your machine lacks the quad fuse modification (addition of a fuse, inline of the voltage regulator). I would not run the machine again, till you have added the parts. If you look that phrase up by the search function here, you will find all the info you need.

Your Battery Ammeter gauge is pegged all the way right, does it not zero when off? It appears to not be functioning properly as well.

Have you reset the circuit breaker CB1 above the inline fuse?
