Hey guys me again have a serious question!??! Before I found all you wonderful folks, I purchased an alternator from eBay! I took the old one out and got on eBay look for 24v 4amp alternator with the same connection as old one and purchased it!! I kno don’t beat me across the head bout it I’m doing a great job doin that myself! Long story short lost 200 and im stuck with it. “Question” is can it be used in my gen set without causing anything harm to it?

That is a 40 amp output alternator and the factory one is 35 amp thats about all i can tell you. The MOD you bought is not going to fix your issue with the Generator, just prevent a potential problem. so lets focus back on your issue.

That I understand! The mod was brought to light in the process of me trying to figure out if the alternator was causing the charging issue. Everyone is helping to try in resolve that issue as must as possible I understand that also.. As I said I brought that alternator because I thought was the charging issue.. So I asked would it hurt the unit.. I’m now aware it’s not same as factory

Start the set. Then measure from ground to first one, and then the other contact on the FU1. You should get 24 VDC. Then check J6/P6 canon plug to make sure its tight. Also unscrew it and look at both sides of the plug. Yes, its a PITA to look at the side on the bottom of the control panel. But you want to make sure there is no damage to the pin, or some kind of corrosion.
Can you explain this to me more it’s like Latin to me.. the steps
