I have recently purchased an Mep-802a. It has water in the oil. Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the suggestions. It turns out the water did get in through the exhaust. after changing the oil a few times it is back to crystal clear.

Have you been running it? Or will it start? I would turn it over by hand first.
I just got it running. The flapper over the exhaust was bent and I think it may of gotten in that way. I straightened the flapper out so it sets flush against the top of the unit. Should I just drain the oil and replace the filter and try running it keeping an eye on the oil?

The fla
Does it have an exhaust flap on it, or is it missing?
If it's missing the flap and you have water in the oil you are probably in for a bit of work!
The flap was bent and did not seal. It probably did take some water that way since all it has done in SW PA is rain lately. I took a hammer to it and straightened it out and it seals against the top of the unit now. Any suggestions on my next move will be greatly appreciated.

Definitely need to keep an eye on things. There is always a possibility it was coolant and not water from the environment.
We've also seen sets with water in them because they were underwater in a flood.
I'd change the oil and filter and put a 50/50 mix of oil and ATF in the crankcase.
Run it for a few hours and check the oil level, make sure it hasn't risen at all.
If it looks good, drain the ATF mixture and replace the oil and filter again.
