816 wrecker wireing question

hopefully somebody can help me ,ive looked around and cant find answer on my own,the problem i have is that my generater is puting out 24 volts, but it is not getting to the batteries to charge them,is there a voltage regulater on these trucks ,could that be my probem if it has one ,where on the truck is it if it has one,where can i get a diagram of the chargeing system for 816 wrecker:confused:

im doing some wiring on a 818 same just the 816 has a few extra wires. in the tms sec 9-2320-260-20 figure fp-1 page 1328 of 1338. ill send you a pm with a diagram.. it was sent today to me from doghead.. he is a good trooper

M809 series five tons are equipped with 60 amp alternators that utilize an internal regulator. There's a good chance that the charging system relay in your protective control box has failed.
