900 Series Winch

The hydraulic fittings on the front winch of the 900 series look to be JIC . can anyone confirm this for me.

Here's one of the lines hanging loose. I don't have the truck in front of me to tell you what kind they are though. Let me know if you want the original pic that you can zoom in on.

As an aside, do you know where there any M939 winches for sale?

I did a google search for "hydraulic fitting id" and got a site listing for jgbhose.com but for some reason when I posted the link here it wouldn't come up. Maybe you guys will have better luck. The site also has a tab marked "JGB Military" that looks like it's got some useful information.
The biggest difference on hydrualic flare fittings seems to be the seat angle; 37 degrees for JIC and 45 degrees for SAE.

yah i guess your rite. i did'nt realize that it was such a poor pic. and the truck is 45 min away so i guess we are stuck with it.

If its a hydraulic fitting, it will be JIC. Use a try square on the male end - you'll be able to see that its not the 45 degree fitting.
SAE fittings that size are rare.

thanks for the replys. i did'nt have time to pop one apart to check. i'm going back this sat to remove the winch and wanted to be preppared when i go to couple the 2 lines together to save blowing hyd oil all over if someone pulls the wrong lever.

Chris i dont know of any more of these rite now. Ron i am about to find out if this will interchange. if by chance the hyd drive unit will work on the 809's, i may add a pump to the XM820. just for the heck of it here is the donor truck. and FYI nothing is availible from this unit at this time.

northern mi redneck winch removal.

any one ever pull the drive off these winches? took all the bolts out but seems like something is hanging on. the whole works will turn but not come apart. got cold fingers and quit for the day.

Ha yes they were. and winter. the M945 is about 45 min from home. did'nt think i would need the heavy hooker for this one. my bud that helped may think different tho.

Hmm, hyraulic pump on the M820 to power this winch, then you're half way towards powered slide-outs. Maybe a lift gate too!

Back to the top. just looking for advice for pulling the hyd drive off this thing. looks to be like all others but when bolts were removed it would spin but not come apart.
