923A2 starter problem

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 923A2 five ton truck that uses the same starter as a 939. I need to replace the starter and would prefer to use a newer model starter. The motor is a Cummins 8.3 turbo. I've been told by a starter repair shop that a delco gear reduction starter is a good choice. Does anyone have experience with this and could recommend a brand and model number? Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you for the information Mullaney. I looked up the Napa number and it shows as an 11 tooth unit. I was able to remove the old starter and it is a 24 volt 12 tooth starter. I'm thinking that could be problem? I researched the line of AC Delco / Delco Remy starters and the 38MT and 39MT can be ordered in a 24 volt 12 tooth starter. Any thoughts on either of those? Thank you for your guidance.
