Just finished adding a cheapy winch to my M116A2.

The tool box worked out great for securing and protecting the battery and solenoid.

Also added a sheetmetal roof to bounce off some of the rain.

Works great for hauling up my ATV's, mower, golf cart, etc.

You may want to secure the battery, so it does not bounce up and short out on the lid. At least cover the top with something non conductive. remember that the battery gives of acidic vapors(it should be in a vented box). Anything near it will corrode.

Thanks for the feedback, actually the battery is mounted on a plywood seat with the clamp type holdowns. The seat is in turn bolted to the bottom of the box with galvanized carriage bolts

Some holes already in the box for ventilation but could add some more. Box has a lot more ventilation than an M38 battery box.
