I want to put a bracket and the radio equipment back to the spot where it must have been before.
Does anyone know what type of radio gear would normally be installed there?
it bolted ot the pass side floor two phillips head screws in the floor and two on the firewall

That connector is not a standard military radio type connector. I bet they had a "base use vhf/uhf" radio in there not a tactical radio. The only issue mount for the "cab" I have seen for a cucv is in the M1010 ambulance. A RT-524 or simialr would take up the entire floor leaving no room for a passenger.

It looks like someone had their feet in a spot close to the transmission tunnel , the floor liner is all pressed down and even has cracks there maybe from boots.
The RT-524 dimension is 9x13x15 , that would fit there, but I also noticed the plug. The Truck is a M1028A3 Com shelter carrier. So I don't know if a Base use vhf/uhf radio would make much sense in this type of vehicle.

I thought the floor mount thing was some kind of detector and not radio equipment. I had one in a 1008.
You mean like a chemical alarm detector?
