Living close to Tinker AFB I see and hear many aircraft. Most days we have B52s, B1s (not everyday), many AWACS and of course all the fighters coming and going. Back in the day we would even get to see the Space Shuttle riding piggyback.

Something we do not get to see everyday is Air Force One.

POTUS was in town the last two days. He arrived last night on the 757 and I didn't get a picture of it. It did fly within a 1/2 mile of the house. I first thought it was the USSS detail.

However I did get a shot of the motorcade. Is the turtle considered an MV? I wonder if they stopped at McD's or Subway for dinner? ;-)

This morning I got some shots of the copters heading out to pick POTUS up and this afternoon caught some of them returning with the POTUS.

Late last night they brought in the 747 and POTUS flew out on it just a few minutes ago.

Enjoy.

I saw Marine One do practice landings at West Point the day before graduation in 2002. My son was in the first post-9-11 graduating class. The President was the Keynote. Three helos flew in, two loaded full of Marine infantry. The Marines would get out and for a perimeter around all three aircraft, in the prone position with M-16s at the ready. We watched that several times. We did not watch it on graduation day as we were headed to the stadium but snipers were on every rooftop, it was a no-fly zone, and Coast Guard boats at battle stations were patrolling the Hudson.

And remember, it's only Marine One or Air Force One when POTUS is on board. I've only seen the Marine helos together so you never know which one if either, POTUS is in.

Since I live in fund raising central we see Marine One all the time. It usually has a couple Osprey with it as well and always two Sea Kings. If you are ever in So Cal hit up the Reagan Presidential Library here in Simi. It has a former AF One and Marine one as well as a replica of the Oval Office with actual items from his Presidency in it. Fun and interesting to see regardless of political affiliation.

I sometimes see Air Force One in Ohio; usually around campaign season; otherwise Ohio is considered just "fly over country". The current occupant of the Oval Office came to Ohio about a year or two back and did a photo opportunity at the UD Arena watching a University of Dayton Flyers basketball game. He was probably trying to boost the chances of a local Democratic candidate that was running for office. For some reason the current POTUS had the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. David Cameron, with him. The local paper, The Dayton Daily News, had pictures of him in it the next day gamely watching a hoops game and eating (I think) a hot dog.I wonder if the present occupant of the White House would exhibit similar grace if he was taken to see a cricket match in England? (No, I don't understand how the game of cricket is played either.)

Air Force One was on the tarmac at Wright-Patterson AFB and I could see it pretty well from the Operations Building. I didn't get a picture of it however as I didn't have my camera with me.

I recall seeing President Reagan land at LAX, it happened to be his last flight on Air Force One. Those of you familiar with LAX know that Sepulveda Boulevard runs under the runways, and from a distance it looks like the aircraft are rolling across the street.

In the old 707? Reagan, although he approved the 747 he never got to ride in it as President.

Yessir. It was January 20th, 1989, Ron and Nancy's last ride. "SAM 27000", a Boeing 707-353B, served 7 presidents over a span 29 years. The plane now permanently resides at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley.

That's cool. I'd love to see the old plane in its current location. We have one of the older presidential aircraft at the museum.

A quick SEARCH of the SS Forums brought me HERE.

I've got and AIR FORCE ONE article to share, and this does seem to be a fairly appropriate Thread in which to share it to an AIR FORCE ONE interested audience of subscribers.

So....
(NOTE: This is NOT a political topic, only a discussion of future AF1 Paint Schemes.

President Trump wants to update Air Force One's design.
Here's what it could look like...

Some of their graphics - just to tease you to actually READ the article.

Just started posting here today - interesting

I'm from Wichita and when we had Boeing Defense still in town they flew in the Presidential planes in all the time for maintenance and upgrades - my house was along the approach path/takeoff path for the runways at the airbase that shared a runway with the Boeing Defense/former Boeing (Now Spirit) manufacturing - was cool to see.

Only time I saw the presidential motorcade was in Manhattan back in 2011 or 2012 - Obama flew to NYC I later learned to give a talk/attend a fundraiser and attend a broadway show - I was down on the river on one of the piers and up high so had a good view of the helipad he landed at - was funny - the NYPD boats started showing up clearing the whole river of boat traffic, then the NYPD started cutting off traffic on the road along the river then snipers started showing up on buildings near the helipad and the motorcade showed up then the 3 choppers flew in - one or two finally landed then he was shuttled out into one of the limos - this was all within about 800-1000k yard away if that - then the motorcade drove by about 200-400 yards away from where I was on the pier - amazing how much firepower was there - the up armored suburbans full of military guys with the guns hanging out - gatling guns in the back of the suburbans with the back hatches open - one of them was pulling what I assume had a mini missile battery or another larger gun behind it, ambulance the whole 9. Crazy to see how much money was spent on what I considered his personal trip - really made one sick - the whole world definitely came to a stand still for one person.

And the Presidential Limo is known as "The Beast". USSS drivers spend up to six months learning how to drive it, including 60 mph backwards through obstacles. I'll see if I can find links to the videos I've seen.
