Just a thought, has any on seen or heard of getting a M1008 and putting a crewcab and short bed on the frame. I need more room than a reg cab but need the bed also.
Awaiting the answers from your infinite wisdom.

I've seen a couple of builds doing the same thing. I was thinking about doing this, but now am going to cut down the frame of a crewcab that I have to make it SWB.

To use your LWB frame, you will have to notch the floorpan in the crewcab to fit the different frame profile. I think you also have to use a Blazer or Suburban fuel tank because your truck tank will no longer fit. You will still need a shorter bed than a stock SWB bed, but it looks pretty easy to cut down. It may even be easier to make a flat bed.

Here's two builds I've read

There was a nice air force crew cab with a 6.2 that sold recently. That would be a perfect candidate to make a CUCV lookalike in a crew cab. All the hard work was done. Minor frame work and a short bed box and it would be done.
