Alternator Pulley Source?

I picked up a 24V 27SI from Pat's, and of course it has a different shaft diameter. Should I have my original pulley bored out to .875, or get a new one? If new, where in the **** can I find one that has the correct offset? Pulleys with the other correct dimensions are 'relatively' easy to find, but I don't want my belts running off true. Can I shim to adjust that with washers? Likewise, it the clamping depth of the pulley is too shallow for the shaft length, can I also shim to correct this? I ask because I am not familiar with how reliable non keyed shaft mounts are. Knowing how things go in my world, I will fire this up and the pulley won't spin with the shaft!

I was reading this thread:
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?124767-Help-Identifying-Alternator and thought that the answer was just on the next page. But, it never came.

Here is a couple of pulleys I found:
http://store.alternatorparts.com/partno241509.aspx and the pic with dims:

This one looks too shallow, like it will not sitting far enough from the face of the alternator for the belts to line up.

http://www.ase-supply.com/product_p/ni-p-190.htm No dims but this one looks similar to the one above.
http://www.ase-supply.com/product_p/ni-p-114.htm This one looks like the best match. I have an inquiry with the ase-supply to get some dimensions.

A couple of other items I found:
http://www.jimcotest.com/docs/JIMCO Brackets and Pulleys.pdf
AJ160 and the bottom half of A290 look potentially useful.

So, does anyone have a source for one for the Delco style alternators?

I know it sounds low tech but take an MV one in to NAPA and have an old timer see if they have one. (I'm old so I can say that.)

That's what I'm going to as soon as I get the time. I'd prefer that to boring out a bunch of good pulleys.

I took mine to a local guy that just happens to be retired and has a personal machine shop in his back yard. He does small jobs when he feels like it. 45 minutes and $10 later, mine was done. I found him in the yellow pages and I live in a real small town. I might add that I took the new alternator with me for him to measure. I had a nice slip fit and tightened down fine with the nut.

You would think that I had thought of that since my Brother runs the CNC lathe that bored my last one out...... Doh!!!

I just bored mine out to 7/8" on a drill press. Didn't take me 20 min. No noticeable run out. Seriously, you guys are way over thinking this. The shaft doesn't need the hole to be very tight. A few thousandths over bore won't hurt. The nut and fan are what clamp the pulley in place.

I should also mention my drill press is an uber cheap $50 bench top unit from HF. So if I can do it with that then anyone should be able to do it.

A 7/8" bit shouldn't run more than about $15. I would also suggest a step bit to get the initial pilot hole to 7/8". Then finish out with a 7/8" silver and demming bit.

I had a feeling if you went somewhere that the guys behind the counter didn't Parrot the party line of "what is the make and year of your vehicle" pablum they could go to the shelf and look for one.

Thanks
