Alternator rebuild issue...

So I bought an alternator rebuild kit from napa.... it's the wrong one as I found out after taking the alternator apart. My question for everyone is, where can I get the right rebuild kit? And is it okay to drive the truck without this alternator? I figure it wasn't doing anything before and instead of reassembling it just to take it out again seems unnecessary. Thanks

I have purchased a lot of lost from www.aspwholesale.com

You need a 27SI type 100 kit.

You can run the truck without the alternator. Just watch your electrical load. Also tape up the connectors.

when rebuilding the alternator make sure you reinstall all the fiber washers in the correct place. The TM 9-2320-289-34 has a chapter on rebuilding the alternator
