Am I better off buying from GL or private seller?

We drove my dad's home over 5 hours without a problem as we were able to inspect them before we bought it. We did stop for washer fluid though.

Cheers!

I bought 4 off of GL. 2 ran and 2 were towed on 1 runner and 1 tow on have cold starting issues but run perfect. 1 tow on and one runner are the best starting and running I've ever seen.
Who needs a casino, I just go to GL and buy something. rofl
Should you buy form them, can you fix a CUCV, do you want to fix a CUCV, if not steer clear.
I bought another one that didn't run due to dashboard cannibalization, but I have 3 residue trucks for parts I need. I also have a M1028 that didn't have an aircleaner, and they did alignments on it when they should have done the driver side wheel bearings on it so I have to "Scope" It before I start it.
Most of the trucks I've seen had 20-30,000 miles and the runners purred!
I'll see what the 90,000 mile one runs like.
A thing to watch for is if the dash panel and the gauge panel fit well or it looks like there is a fit mismatch. I have a truck with less than a 1,000 miles on it with a miss-fit gauge panel.
Should you buy from GL, HMMM, DO Ya Feel Lucky? It could be :driver:&go or  !!

I bought mine 1/09 through GL. From Ft McCoy (Sparta). Close enough for me to trailer home.

Advertised as, "towed on lot" with 47,000 miles.

I was looking for a new snow plow rig as the one I had was rusted badly. I didn't care if it ran as I was going to put a gasser in it. It was a cheap way to get a better body than what is available around here.

I won it for $1300.00 and with fees etc, it was around $1570.00. And remember, you don't get to pick it up right away, you have to wait for the paper work to make its way through the system.

After getting it home, new batteries (you must have new big batteries), glowplugs and tires, it ran like a top and works great.

Until I blew out the rearend this spring.

Oh, forgot, I had saved these pictures. This is the gamble I took. No preview nor did I kick the tires.

As I said before, I won it for $1300.00, "towed on lot"

Turned out to be a runner with 47,000 miles. Not even broke in for a diesel.
