Another Deuce ID question

I was reading kipman's post about more info on his and wouldlike to know if anyone can help with mine
The nunbers on the frame, drivers side:
2061(small)
119307(large)

Identification number:
09972

Contract number:
1972

I remember reading that maybe the numbers off of the would help, so here goes:

Middle axle:
672 N2
4 53 85

Rear axle:
672 N2
2 4 53 88

When I got it in April 2006 it was painted tan and it looks like it has a depot rebuild in the late 80's . The engine, transmission and transfer case have 87-89 dates on the tags.
The certifcate of origin(SF97) I got from GSA stated the year as 1972 Kaiser.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also the data plate says w/w while mine has none.

The plate on the right side only has the id# and contract# stated above. They both look shorter than any I have seen before. I'll go take a picture before I call it a night.

Well, it is a rebuild unit for sure with the late axles and new tags. Per DD posts it may be a Lansing made rebuild of a gasser built in 1961? six digit numberw with no M prefix. and possibly the date of mfg in lower case. Most all MF will be 0XXX-1XXXX for a VIN The tag indicates it is a winch model.... 1617..

Look at the frame on the passenger's side, between the centerline of the front axle and the step. Probably a number there.
Look at the right rear motor mount, and tell us if it is bolted or riveted.

The data plate is a replacement.

Are there any numbers painted on the underside of the hood, or on the doors (in-cab side)?

Take a look at the tag on the transfer case - and post all the info off it as well.

This will all help us help you.

I've picked up a dash in my travels that has data plate like the one above. I don't remember them off the top of my head but seems they really didn't make any sense like the ones above. DDoyle or Medlog, I'll post it if you would like to have for your research but won't waste your time if you don't care because it doesn't mean anything to me. It's just a dash with no truck to go with it.

My early 1950s gasser had the SN on the drivers side in front of the steering arm.

Littlebob - I've seen the photo of the exhaust hanger you've posted in the other thread, that, plus the bolted motor mount lead me to believe the truck was born a gasser. That being the case this could be the first truck that medlog refers to - the 1952 truck with the registration number of 4D6117. Medlog says mfr 50513 - I dunno who that code is for (Medlog?), but I think your truck was built by Reo Motors in Lansing - PROBABLY in December 1952.

Most of the Reo factory records were lost/destroyed (the trail runs cold with the records being somewhere in Pennsylvania relatively recently). A handful of records are at the University of Michigan, and I have copies of those. With the information at hand, both on your end and mine, I think this is the best that we can do.

With respect to the SF97, in 1972 Kaiser wasn't building 2 1/2 ton trucks, AM General was, and had been since 1971 when the nameplate was changed from General Products Division of the Jeep Corporation, which itself had replaced Kaiser-Jeep on March 26, 1970.
