Hi, all!

I'm another new member out in the NW corner of the Pacific Northwest, located on Whidbey Island. My wife took off for the holidays to visit with our daughter in Hawaii, so shopped for my own Christmas present this year... and bought a nice 1994 M1079 sans radio box. My business is designing and fabricating modern modular cabins and small homes for remote locations, so this truck will provide a fun experimental platform for developing a line of small movable self-contained and self-unloading cabins for use on remote recreational properties, starting with a little yoga studio/sauna cabin to go into the wilderness near Twisp, WA.

If the initial experiment goes well, perhaps I'll be looking for an M1085 to follow in the coming Spring or Summer.

I very much look forward to learning from the wisdom and experience assembled here!

(Can't wait to see the look on the missus' face when she gets home next month...)

Hello I'm new here too looks like a great site, I bet your wife will be surprised when she gets home. My wife has an aunt and uncle from your area they lived out where they had to take a boat to get to their home. Good luck with your new truck i really like those.

There are a few hard core collectors around Twisp and I don't think they're on this forum. The guy I know has had the following:
M151, M35A3, V-100, M548, M818, M1123?, and a helicopter. I'm sure he's owned many more than those during his time.

Fun story...

I PM'd Jim (VertigoPilot) to say that I am up to visit a town near him from time to time and it might be interesting to get together. He explained that he's also to that town often as that's where his boat is moored.

I said, that's funny, I have a boat and it's moored there too... What marina? Turns out, it's the same one.

What slip you might ask? In a crazy coincidence, it was the one right next to mine. Small world, eh?

Mine on the left, Jim's on the right:

He is actually off to another marina at this point, but it was nice to meet him and be his neighbor- albeit only briefly.

That's a damned fine vessel you have there! Looking forward to our next meeting, hopefully somewhere along the Inside Passage.
