Well did another 800 mile round trip to Cali yesterday. This 09 never stops amazing me. The only thing that concerned me was the outside temp it was about 102 degrees and the first part of the trip was long uphill grades, 15 miles. This is the first truck that I havent put in a gauge that I cold read. Anyway 756 miles 20.7mpg, no oil burned. I hit above 80mph a few times. The funny thing was when I was doing 80 i was passed by a prius doing over a 100 I would say. I thought all the people that bought hybrids drove 5 mph under the speed limit so they can save the earth by leaving less of a carbon foot print. LOL

Good deal.

I love mine on long trips. She seems to run smoother and smoother the longer you're cruising. I just got back from a 1600 mile trip myself. Averaged 22.75MPG mostly around 65 with a few 70-80 stints.

Didn't burn much oil at all. I topped up about 1/2 quart afterward. I did have a transmission issue though. In function she shifted and drove just fine, but at some point leaked some fluid from the trans vent. My guess is overheated through the Penn. hills. Fluid was just a bit low and still clean/red/unburnt.

I've got a line on an NV4500 with bellhousing-T-case-shifter out of a 95' 1 ton for 600 bucks. So the plan is to swap in the 5-speed, rebuild the 400 and then maybe find a good deal on something that needs a trans.
