Cool in theory.

I bet they ain't cheap and are prob a bear to work on. I'm sure Oshkosh is standing by to be the service contractor to maintain them during their life cycle.

I hope they dumped that V-8 driptroit that they foisted off on the military in the early versions of the HEMMT, PLS and HETT trucks.

A few years back Oshkosh set up a display at the AUSA show here in FL. The highlight was the propulse and they set up a powered cab as a display. I spoke with one of the Sr engineers for a couple of hours about the truck. If it weren't for the initial cost, this would be the truck of all trucks. The diagnostics in the cab were beyond description and the seats were top shelf. Simply put, this truck eats Chuck Norris' for breakfast.

Cat has comeout with a desiel over electric D7 dozer. got to try one out and you can't stall the tracks. it takes some getting use to, but it will do the owrk of a D8 with 30% less fuel.
