Had a strange thing happen today pulled in to drive, pretty steep, to drop off my daughter and before she can get out and come around steam rolls out from under the hood of my new to me 931a1. By the way I was pointed up hill, checking things out now but truck was and didn't over heat according to the gage and it quit spilling after I leveled out. Any ideas welcome.

Was it sweet smelling? If not and you are running antifreeze, it was water from someplace.

Nope not over full truck had been running for three hours before it happened, just a bad cap. Does anyone know a part number that I can use at napa to get a new one? I went and pulled five off of trucks we are cutting up and four were no good.

Jeff,

The NAPA folks should be able to match it up in the Balkamp line. Bring it with you.

The psi rating is stamped on the cap, and of course it is the bigger diameter throat not the standard automotive. The other variable is the cap having a gasket under the cap flange/throat ( systems with coolant overflow normally have 2 gaskets on the cap but not all) and the other gasket on the cap inner smaller seal. A good counterman should know how to match it up.:)

These are all pretty standard items. The only thing that I don't remember the NAPA caps is having the chain fitting. That might be mv specific but not necessary.
