Anyone have pics of an OD (semi-gloss) deuce with a green vinyl cab top?

I want to see what it looks like.

Eventually, I would like to return my 383 green with tan and grey camo back to it's original vietnam-era OD semi-gloss.

However, I'm not interested in going for canvas tops. I'm not interested in shelling out so much money for something that's just going to rot.

So how does the GMA "383" green cab top look with an OD semi gloss deuce?

Same question re: the cargo cover.

poof those look great, what paint did you use?

Do you have any pics of your prep work or painting process?

I have a M332 also hoping mine comes out like yours.

Thank you.

Not sure if this is what your looking for or not. If so, I can take some better pics for you.
That looks good, but it doesn't look dark enough to be the OD semi gloss. Maybe it's just the lighting. What I'm talking about is the vietnam era dark OD green. 24087 is the number for it at Rapco, I believe.

Whatever it is tho, I like it.

Could you take a closer picture of the cab and cab top please?

the paint came from Menards they are a big box builders home supply. they had a match for the federal paint chip # 24087.
right on there computer.
they did not have a semigloss in oil base...
No biggy to me... i got them to mix me 2 galons @ $25 each in Gloss oil base.. did my primer on dirty fuel soaked oily parts only ( after soap wash) lots of wire wheel too. the gloss was semi gloss in just one winter out side here in Wisconsin.
shot the paint with a $20 gun and onboard air . took 2 days.. stencils are all my own . cut from card board.. and shot with rattle can.
Thanks.

Sorry, I was remembering my numbers wrong. Mine is 34087, it is lighter. I'll see if I can get you a pic of the top and cab.

Sure does. Those look really good.

Hm. I'm convinced. I'll go with the 383 vinyl top and if I don't like it I'll take it off and replace it with the tan top and paint it.

If you do decide you dont like the green top.
I have a brand new, in the box, Tan top I will trade you for the green.

I bought some wally world Krylon fusion for plastic in their OD green Camo line. some brown too. Painted a strip of each color on either side of the top.

I will drive around with it like that for a couple of weeks and see how it holds up. If it doesn't crack or flake, I will paint the whole top in Krylon Camo OD and post pics.

here are some pics of mine after I painted it gillespie 24087 and with the 3 color top that came with it and finally with the canvass top. I kinda liked the 3 color but I had a buyer for it so off it went. I got my od canvass top off here for if I remember 100.00. It was new still in the box. There are some deals out there just ask.

if your going to the trouble of painting it you should get the canvas cargo cover and top. That s my 2 cents anyway.

I have a canvas cargo cover. It isn't in the best of shape, tho. It was free, tho, so I can't complain.

New canvas cab covers are $300. Like I said, it's hard to justify shelling out twice the price for a canvas that will last 1/4 as long as a vinyl.
