these days a buddy is in trouble with m1009 rear short drive shaft

i searched this forum
the below is what i have found.

1. rear driveshaft : U-joint & Slip yoke size are the same for m1008 or m1009 which are interchangable
2. front driveshaft : U-joint & Flange size are the same it means it can be interchangeable
3. rear driveshaft length : diameter about 4inch

3.a. m1008 one
overall : 62inch,
between two center of yokes welded directly to the tube : 54inch
3.b. m1009 : i couln't find any measurement of it
somebody said it is 37.25inch, but i don't know which point of distance

4. front drive shaft length:
4.a m1008 one : 2~4inch shorter than m1009 front.
the end of flange to center of yoke : i guess 27inch from Rockauto
4.b m1009 :
the end of flange to center of yoke : i guess 31 inch from Rockauto

i need to buy longer rear driveshaft for 4inch lifted m1009.
if know, please save me

Just have one made. Once the truck is lifted, determine what length you need and take the old drive shaft(s) to a drive line company. They will cut the yokes off the old tube and weld them on a new tube, balance it, and you are good to go.

I'm sure your stock shaft will reach with 4" of lift. You will be more concerned with how it's vibrating over the length.

Most kits will include a drop spacer kit for the crossmember but it's a bad idea. Best way to do it is with a CV rear shaft. When going that route like mentioned just measure it yourself and have a shop build one.
