I replace all my batteries with type 31s from Interstate Battery. They don't sell factory blems at mine so I go with what they call econo batteries. They are batteries that were returned but tested good. At first they were $35 a battery they are now up to $45 or $50, but still not bad for a truck battery.

I wouldn't pay $369 for batteries. As said above, get some group 31 batteries. I can replace both batteries for less than $300 and they will likely last just as long and start the truck just as well. You just have to come up with a different hold down.

Now in defense of agm/hawker I have a good hawker that is dated 2001 :)
I think the agm batteries are top of the line batteries but I still wouldn't pay $369 for one.

I've had horrible luck with the standard lead/acid 6TLs but the agm batteries seem to hold up.

Try putting your Hawkers on a plusating charger (such as the Battery Minder ones). It may take a couple of months to bring it back to life, but I've had good results so far. Last one I've been working on started out at .85 volts, and now will hold 12.46 overnight. Once it gets to about 13.5 volts, I'll put it on 'desulfate mode' for about three months. Already done two that way and they work just fine. If you can catch them before they go below 10 volts, they will come back faster. YMMV2cents

After moving a full battery box with hawkers I don't think I'll go back to them. HEAVY!!! The Optima Red tops I have now crank faster and are much lighter! I can also swap optimas between my deuce, jeep, and GMC in a pinch if I need to.

Edit: I also like the extra set of "GM" terminals on the Optimas for wiring in accessories like 12V step-down transformers and 24V AC inverters.
