So when I pulled the air cleaner box I had found a mouse nest in the
discharge hole / one way rubber deal on the very bottom of the
air cleaner box. The ONLY way it could have got in was thru the
front air intake hole.

I made a anti-mouse screen w/ 3/8" perforated hole punched steel.
I do not "think" I will be starving the engine of air.

Well today was a good day.
I do believe all issues are resolved.
She starts and runs like a throughbred.
She holds air for TWO DAYS above 100 PSI! (y)
Tranny Air Pack appears to be A-Ok, I can shift forward
and backward thru all 16 gears and 2 reverse w/o issues. !

THIS is a MUCH different motor! I feel REAL HP w/ this baby! HA!

This IS A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE! My heart and soul went into this! I AM HAPPY!
It appears as though I pulled off what I assumed was impossible. Ha~!

For the record, the new BC3 came w/ a Blue colored Bendix Fan Clutch.
It was INOP , stuck it was. I had in stock a Gold TOP Kit Masters Fan
Clutch and I swapped it in and I am HAPPIER for it. I built this thing
like I was going to send men into battle w/ it. I have tried SO HARD
to do a GREAT job... We shall see ehh? ha~!

One on ebay.

Or any 7/8" x 36 spline wheel will work.
Well I am hoping to keep the horn working too...
I don't know if parts would mesh...

EDIT: I had seen that on EBAY, I wrote the seller and gave him
what the TM says are correct P/N's and he wrote back and
said it is a match so I bought it.

So getting ready to reinstall that massive grill.
I decided to revisit my Anti-Mouse mod and add
another grill so as to insure I am getting enough
CFM of air in. I think this engine will pump out
over 2200 CFM !

B4 grill goes on I also decided to blank plate off the hole
where the Power Steering pump cooler was. Speaking of;
The book says 2qts of Mercon ATF for the PS pump. It would
not take it all b4 start up, after start up it took the balance
to be right at 2 quarts.

I pulled the trigger and deleted the Tranny cooler. I mean
I will pull "maybe" 40K oscassionally. That cooler was installed
by Unicors WORST. Everything was wrong, only one swivel
hose end, crammed into a hole where you can't spin fittings,
crushed, AND, when I reconnected the hoses one of them
started to crack! I simply made a heavy duty loop at the tranny.
My tranny temp gauge and sender are brand new. Anyone have
the temp norms memorized for the 7155? Is it 330 MAX?

With the 16.00 tires and a 80K-ish gross, I never really saw my trans temp climb on my M920.
I know that is a big stupid cooler, but I hate losing something that valuable. I think you could probably run a much smaller cooler is still have great results and be confident in it not over heating?

It was a struggle deciding what to do. I so saw a future problem and I do NOT
want any road side problems. That cooler is behind that monster grill.
Wrestling w/ THAT on the side of the road is NOT something I want to do.

Once the cracks in one of the hoses showed up it
was an easy decision to DELETE. Having said that I did ponder what would I
do if I need it in the future and I see LOTS of places to place a cooler much closer
to the tranny and I am sure will still get plenty of airflow, like the back side of
the battery box...

I appreciate the input much ! (y)

Well, I know there are people who would be curious to see what the temps would be without the cooler.
And yeah, there are plenty of other places to run a cooler for these.
And the transmission is super efficient, I think it would only really get hot if you are abusing the oil in the main clutch by starting off in too high of a gear?

Got any pics of that DOZER? I have a lil CAT D3C Series 3 w/ 6 way and rippers.

You do not need a transmission cooler for the CAT. The gears do not run in oil when driving. The pump moving fresh oil is enough to keep it cool.. essentially it is just a manual transmission and per the manual and build sheet the cooler is optional. I never ran one on my 923. I only got above 230 degrees in stop and go traffic.

You can rig up a heat exchanger to maintain a steady temp with the engines and for warmer oil temps in winter

Yeah, stop and go when you are slipping the main clutch and creating heat. Not really going to create any real heat any other time with this transmission.

It is a fairly new JD 550. It has the laser guided leveling system that makes life a LOT easier for getting a perfect grade!
That thing is badazz!
NICE Excavator too!
I have visions of someday a new JD or CAT about in the 550 size but decked
out w/ a full blown forestry package, A/C, water tank, shovel, ax, Maddox,
comms etc and doing Wildland Fire work. I talked to them, they said BRING IT!
We will taste those waters first w/ my D3C...
I started screening it. I drew this in CAD and had it cut. Came out PERFECT.
LED lights and shrouds and welded on bungs, I feel MUCH safer w/ just that.
You only need to get poked in the back ONCE to realize how much you need it.
Ask me how I know !

I went with a replacement inner and outer filter for a Terex Dump truck rated at 1900cfms over the 1000cfm stock filter unit.
