I'm looking at doing a complete axle overhaul soon. I have found a step by step guide for the front axles but cannot find one for the rears, i'm sure that there used to be one on here, I have the TM'S downloaded so I understand what to do, and that you can take the duals off together with a pallet truck or dolly. It would just be helpful to have some detailed pictures or video to help.
Regards, mark

One may want to take the duals apart if have not done before.

I used the pallet jack a few times but now just take it all apart. I want it all torqued correct so I can get them off if necessary.
Be prepared to seal the axle keyway, lots of posts on that.
Be aware that there is lots of NEW junk parts out there, especially the axle keyed lockwasher. Many aftermarket is junk new. TM says use new.
It should go right on, no hammer.

FYI Erik's has some bundled kits available:

If you can do the front, you know everything you need to know about the rear. If you've never done any service on the axles before, I recommend pulling the wheels off as you will learn a great deal about the brake adjustment procedure. Also, there's a sheet metal plate in the drum that serves as a catch for oil or grease spilling from the bearings or axle housing. Mine were totally caked in oil/grease muck. I spent hours cleaning them.
