Banks turbo problems

Anyone having any problems with your kit? I keep blowing the caps on the intake. I guess I'm will be calling them tomorrow.

Just wondering your experience

Also where do you find vacuum caps that do not crack over time?

What kind of boost are you running?

I've just always used vacuum line with a bolt in it.

Pegged the gauge at 15psi. Its not that it is the crappy rubber they use breaking down over time and cracking.

Just talked to them they are sending me a couple of them.

That's a smidge higher than I'd take a 6.2. (Unless you've rebuilt it or running a 6.5 or a hybrid)

So you're blowing the boots that connect the turbo outlet to the cold air pipe and upper plenum. I run silicone boots on my dodge. And it sees 45-50psi.

no they are caps for where the cdr valve hooks up.

I have a lot of faith in this truck. I have pulled tons of stuff with it, Hooked up to sleds, and pegged the gauge tons of times. What ever motor is in this truck ,it's almost bullet proof. If it does blow up i have spares.

Suprised it makes that much boost, I thought they were only supposed to make between 7-10 psi of boost. The caps on mine are cracked also, and the turbo is only a few years old. Never liked those spring type hose clamps on anything.

Most folks on this site say 10psi is the max safe boost pressure. I'd check your wastegate, if the gauge is pegged it could be making even more boost than 15psi.
You'll have bigger problems than the manifold caps if you don't correct that situation.
As far as those caps go, tap the holes (don't forget to clean out the manifold!) and install pipe plugs.
