I use spill proof jump pack batteries in my 831, the kids 4 wheelers and my son's LPW2 tractor conversion.
You can get a matched pair for about $75.
12V 18Ah. or a few bucks more for a 21Ah.
I wasn't having good luck with the small cheap motorcycle batteries that you buy dry from local stores, only the better, more expensive ones seemed to last more than a year.
The jump pack batteries seem to give about 3-4 years depending on their usage.

I get them on ebay. You can find them on Amazon as well. Just search 12V 18Ah or better, but a tad more money is 12V 21Ah and the best are 12V 22Ah.
